What is an art photo print?
More than a simple photo print, Fine Art prints or fine art prints transform your images because they are based on high-end printing systems that you discover at photo exhibitions or that prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Louvre or the European House of Photography.
Originally intended for the art market and collectors, an art print or Fine Art is a subtle association between:
• a neutral pH paper made of natural fibers, resistant to time, manufactured by the greatest art papermakers
• pigment inks
• and above all the know-how of a master shooter. The latter must ensure the correct choice of papers, control the colorimetry and its drift over time, while scrupulously respecting the graphic chain between the photographer's space and the printing of his images.
Unlike a classic photo print which, exposed in bright light, will yellow after a few years, an art print also has an exceptional longevity of around 100 years. These longevity tests are carried out by independent specialized institutes such as the Wilhelm Research Institute on the combination of pigment inks and selected art papers.
